14 Regency Fashion Plates
Today we have a beautiful collection of Regency Fashion Plates! The Regency period (1811-1820) was a time of change in fashion. Gone were the elaborate and restrictive corsets, panniers, and hoopskirts. In their place came a more natural look with softer fabrics and simpler silhouettes. These plates show some of the new styles that emerged during this era. I’ve also mixed in few images from the late 1800’s to early 1900’s, showing nostalgic images of regency costumed, or inspired, ladies and girls. If you are a Jane Austen fan, or a fan of the Bridgerton series, then I think you will enjoy these pictures!

So technically this one is not regency, since it’s about 10 years after. But I am squeezing it in here, as I don’t have another spot for it and it’s pretty close! This amusing print, circa 1830, features a French actress in full ‘Queenly’ costume. She appears to be wearing a long light blue ribbon with perhaps some sort of medal on it. Check out that hair and the lovely dark blue Ermine trimmed gown!!

Antique Regency Fashion Coloring Page
Here we have a fine Regency Ladies Coloring Page from the old Costume book that my friend Ted lent me. Shown are some ladies in their lovely Regency period empire Waist dresses.
