4 Fashionable Forties Ladies Coat Styles
Today we have a stunning collection of Fashionable Forties Ladies Coat Styles! Most coats worn by women in the 1940s were basically the same style and cut. They came just below the knee and were made of wool or wool blends. Ours have herringbone and tweeds in black, tan, grey, and reddish brown Winter colors. Above we have an Elegant Vintage Forties Woman in a Coat Image! It is just a lovely coat. This image shows a happy woman walking in an elegant black double-breasted top coat with a gray pocket scarf. She has blond wavy hair in a black hat with a gray veil flowing in the wind. She carries a clutch purse in white gloved hands. Her plain black pumps are so stylish.
Here we have a Retro Forties Style Women’s Overcoat Graphic! A woman in a rusty brown overcoat and leather hat looks at a paper in her hand. The fairly plain coat features dark top stitching and three large buttons down the front with smaller ones on the cuff detail. For me, the star of this image is the beautiful black and brown spectator pumps with brown bows. She wears a brown hat that looks like leather to me. She seems to be wearing a necktie. Interesting!
I really am a fan of this Nostalgic Stylish Forties Woman wearing a Coat Graphic! In this image an ultra stylish woman models a wool coat with a tone-on-tone gray chevron or herringbone pattern. She sports a modern light gray hat with a wide brim. There is a large red feather and band on the hat. She carries a matching gray and red clutch purse with gloved hands. The coat has oversized pockets, cuffs, and is top stitched. On her feet are black and gray spectator pumps with red bow laces. She is walking with purpose here, like she knows she looks amazing.
Shown above in another Retro Forties Women’s Coat and Hat Graphic! In this image we find a smiling woman wearing a knee-length brown buttonless overcoat and hat. I believe that the buttons are hidden under a tab on the front of the coat. The coat has black top stitching. She is also wearing two toned brown spectator style heels with a bow. Her light tan hat has a pinkish hue. She has a beautiful face.

The 40s are one of my favorite women’s fashion eras. I don’t think I look particularly good in hats, but I love they sure do add a nice touch to an outfit. My daughter and I joke about wanting to go back and live in the 40s…thanks for sharing. I always enjoy seeing the graphics you discover:)
