16 Victorian Fashion Images
Today we have a beautiful collection of Victorian Fashion Images! These are all beautiful ladies’ fashion pictures from Victorian times. We have a few in color and quite a few more in black and white. I think it’s so fun to browse through these pictures and see the different styles worn in the past. Many of these would be great to incorporate into a Junk Journal! Also, if you have HBO, I highly recommend the show “The Gilded Age”!
Victorian Fashion Images
This is a Lady in a Beautiful Red Dress Image! Shown above is an old Victorian Scrap piece, showing a woman in an amazing red Dress with gold trim. I believe it is a Riding habit for riding horses. Such a marvelous image for your Fall or Equestrian themed Projects!
Here is a beautiful Purple Fashion Lady! It was part of a set that I picked up. Although this one didn’t have a date on it, some of the others were from the 1890′s. This is actually an ad for a Ladies Sewing pattern, and was apparently called a Ladies Summer Toilette. Oddly enough, this one looks mostly black and white to the eye. It has a slight tinge of purple to it, but when scanned it turned a deep purple. I thought it was a fun change, so I left it that way! Great to use for some Wall Decor for a Sewing Room!
Here is the latest addition to this collection. Here we have 3 ladies all bundled up for the Winter! I see lots of fur here, not something that we do much anymore really, now we have lots of faux fur options thankfully.
Victorian Bustle Dress Images
Pictured above is a Ladies Victorian Fashion Image of a Victorian Bustle Dress with both Front and Back Views! This one was scanned from an Antique, Circa 1889 Ladies Fashion Magazine! Actually an ad for a Ladies Sewing pattern, the dress looks quite heavy with all of that fabric gathered around it, and of course the big bustle in the back!
This is a Ladies Victorian Fashion Image with both Front and Back Views! Scanned from the Circa 1889 Ladies Fashion magazine, this is another ad for a Ladies Sewing pattern. It was apparently called Ladies Polonaise, referring to a fancy dress with a tight bodice. I especially like the two-toned coloring on the front of it. Such a smart look!
Vintage Fashion Plate Illustrations
This is a lovely free vintage stock image of a Vintage Fashion Plate! This one is also an ad for a Ladies Sewing pattern. You could purchase the pattern for the jacket, vest or skirt. Each pattern cost around 15 cents to 20 cents! I love all the pretty details on this one, especially the skirt with the scalloped trim and the hat with the Ostrich feathers, which is amazing! Perhaps you could frame the images in this section and hang it in your Sewing Room or Dressing Room!
This is another Free Stock Image of a Victorian Fashion plate. The lady shown above is dressed in a beautiful dress, with a fitted bodice and long lace sleeves, collar, and trim. The dress appears to have a bit of a train on the back too. So beautiful! Can you believe how tiny her waist is? That looks so painful! This one probably dates to around the 1890’s and was an advertisement for a Dress Pattern. According to the ad this particular dress style was called a “Princess Dress.”
Above is a Ladies Fashion Visiting Costume! This is actually an ad for a Ladies Sewing pattern apparently called a Visiting Costume. I wonder who she’s off for a visit?! I think this outfit is quite interesting, with the laces down one side!
Featured above a lovely Vintage Winter Fashion Plate! This is a Sewing pattern as well. You could purchase the pattern for the fur trimmed jacket for just 20 cents and the beautiful ruffled edged skirt for a mere 25 cents! This was apparently called a Ladies Winter Toilette, according to the book. I just love the whole scene here, especially that rustic wood fence behind her!
This is a sweet Vintage Black and White Fashion Clip Art – Lovely Lady! I think her face is so pretty and sweet. She is wearing a beautiful gown with ribbons and is holding a rose! I love all of the details on her gown and the way her shoe barely shows at the bottom!

Fancy Fashion Images
This are a darling Victorian Fashion from an 1855 Godey’s Ladies Book! Shown above is a little Girl’s Party Dress. It is very fancy with rows and roes of Ruffles and a big Bow Sash in front and on the sleeves! I think these would make a fun Party Invitation or Handmade Birthday Card!

Just wondering why you can’t click on some of the images to open them? I really love the top one, but can’t click to open in a new tab and enlarge it! I’m a premium member, but I don’t think we have this in one of the bundles?
Many thanks 🙂

Hi Maria, So, sorry about that! I think I have them all working properly now. Thanks so much for letting us know! It’s a weird glitch in our system over here on the blog, that happens occasionally.
