Victorian Gentleman Junk Journal
Hey, everyone! Amanda Charlesworth of Scrimping Mommy, one of our amazing Junk Journal Design Team Members, created a fabulous Victorian Gentleman Junk Journal for us this week. As you know, we feature one new Junk Journal project each week created by one of our creative team of artists. Our Design Team Members select from the 100’s of Vintage Image Bundles on our Premium Membership Site, for their creations, in order to show you beautiful ways to use those images. We hope you will be totally inspired by this series!
Therefore, please make sure you check out the video tour at the bottom of the page…please scroll all the way down to see it. Are you ready to be inspired? I will step out of the way and let Amanda tell you all about her incredible project…
As this is to be my final project for the Graphics fairy .. sob .. I wanted to make something really special.
I decided to create a fabulous interactive lapbook. I also wanted to create some of my own digitals for the project to make it extra special. I managed both and today we are sharing a project with heaps of inspiration.
I created my own digital kit for this project, my very first full one and all down to Graphics Fairy. The premium site not only has heaps of images to use but detailed and easy to follow tutorials on how to create digitals using Photoshop elements.
With their help I was able to create my Victorian Gentlemen kit. Its easier than you think if I can do it anyone can
The Lapbook is quite large 8 x 11 inches approximately and has a heap of flips and interactive pages.
I used images from the Instant Ancestors and created small paper dolls which are fun to fussy cut and embellish flips and pockets with.
Further interactive flips are added to the large pages by using simple envelopes lined with book pages and decorated. There are also two simple signatures in the center for journaling. Each page is
brimming with ephemera all created using graphics fairy images and items I have collected
I kept my theme male easily finding lots of images to fit the them by using the search bar and typing me or male.
Simple key words are all you need to help search the site I love it.
For a real in depth look at how the lapbook works with its tardis like pages please do go and take a look at the video. You will find lots of ideas to inspire you in your own journal making. I hope you enjoyed my project.

Woohoo! I totally agree with your rating Joey Ann … 100 stars to Amanda for sure! And we would absolutely welcome her back in the future. We ask all of our Design Team members to take a break after being on the team for 2 consecutive seasons. That way we can give some new people a chance. But they are always welcome to come back again! 😊
