Seashell Clipart Black and White
Scallop and Clam Shell Clipart
These pretty Seashell Clip Art pictures shown above are from an early Natural History book in my collection. The shell at the top is a Cockle Shell. I just love how the top looks like a bow. It has radial, evenly spaced ribs that are a feature of the shell, with dark lines running across them. A Scallop shown in the center image. It has a double set of ribs. There is a side view of the scallop also.
Shown just above are some two Giant Clam Shells! The image shows two views, one of the inside and one of the outside. I really like the wavy edges. Wouldn’t this be perfect to use in a Collage with a Mermaid?!
Seashell Clipart Snail Type
This next Shell Clipart is a Gryphaea, which apparently is an extinct type of Oyster, but it looks like a Snail to me! I love the spiral shape.
Conch Shell Clip Art
The last one, according to the Antique Natural History book, that I scanned it from is a Conch shell known as a Pyrula. The spire at the top resembles a three tiered crown. These are my favorite kind of shells to collect, I don’t think I’ve every found one at the beach on vacation, but I have snagged a few at thrift shops. I just love the ones with the pink inside of them. So beautiful!
Fancy Seashells Clipart
The next Seashell Clip Art picture that we have something called a Fasciolaria, according to the book. I have always called the ones like this ‘Tulip’ shells. This one has a beautiful body whorl pattern.
Pictured above are a couple of very nice Seashell Clipart engravings. The one at the top is a Variegated Triton and the bottom one is called a Turnip Turbinella. Or at least that’s what the book says!
These are two very early Natural History Prints from a circa 1754 Encyclopedia. They have some wonderful Seashell Engravings on them. I’m not sure what kind they are, but they are very interesting looking, with their spikey exteriors!

Hi Karen,
I love sea shells, especially the Conch shells. I have a variety of them and this year, I am going to get some creative juices going and plant some succulents in them. I love so many of the different succulents and these will be a nice pairing of them.
