18 Vintage Store Ads

Today we have a marvelous collection of Vintage Store Ads! These ads are such a fun peek into how advertisers reached their customers 100 years ago or more. Most of these came from old Printers Catalogs, so they were meant to be examples for local businesses. The business owners could select the design that they liked and then have the printer customize the text for them. Some of these are straight forward and traditional looking, while others are quite quirky and fun!

Black and White Vintage Store Ads

This is an interesting looking Wheelbarrow Sign Man Image! Scanned from a Circa 1884 Printer’s book, above is a man pushing a wheelbarrow full of his wares. He’s selling quite a curious collection of goods and services, including everything from hardware to Hoop skirts, and he even mends shoes and extracts teeth! I guess that explains why he calls himself Jack All Trade! Anyway, this was an old advertising piece that was obviously used as a sample.

I’ve also included this blank version, so that you can use it to advertise your own wares of you like… it would make a cute Shop Sign or Price Tag!

Here’s an unusual Old Advertisement. This is another one from an antique Rubber Stamp catalog in my collection. This graphic was used for a Dry Goods and Millinery store, and shows an odd looking fellow with a very long mustache and some spectacles.

This cute Vintage Hardware label was scanned from an 1880’s Rubber Stamp catalog that’s in my collection. Shown above is an oval advertising label from Massachusetts. In addition to hardware, this one also advertises home furnishing goods. A nice one to use on your Furniture or Home Decor projects!

Pictured above is a fun Vintage Fertilizer Sack Image that was scanned from the 1880’s Rubber Stamp catalog in my collection. Shown above is an old garden sack with a fertilizer advertisement on it. Fun for your Garden Style projects!

This is a cute Advertising piece from an Antique Rubber Stamp Catalog! The ad is for a clothing company in New York.

I also thought the decorative oval frame was great, and would make a really nice label!

This cute advertisement is for Bicycles in Syracuse, NY. They’ve used some interesting rays around the border to call attention to the ad!

Here is the latest addition to this collection. Here is a cute advertisement for Ribbons. The banner even looks like Ribbon … clever!

Featured above is marvelous Vintage Liquor Cigar Sign Image. It is an old Typography sample for a Liquor and Cigar shop. The sample is from a rare early 1900’s Printer’s book! Such a fancy looking piece. I think this would make a great sign for a bar!

Above is an awesome Antique Hardware Trade Sign! This is a Typography sample for a Hardware store. The sample is also from a rare early 1900’s Printer’s book! I think it would make a cute decorative sign!

Retro Store Advertisements

Here we have a cute Retro Hosiery Sign Image! This graphic was used as an advertising sample for a Hosiery Maker. It shows a lovely lady on a black and white checked Settee, putting her stockings on. This graphic, along with the others seen below, were scanned from a splendid, rare Circa 1941/1942 Printer’s catalogue.

This is a Cute Vintage Dressmaker Sign Image! This graphic was used as an advertising sample for a custom Dressmaker, and it shows a young woman in her undergarments being fitted for a dress. So nice!

Displayed above is a cute Vintage Jewelry Sign Image! This graphic was used as an advertising sample for a Jewelry shop. The sign shows a lovely lady, with lots of pearls!

Here is a cute Vintage Linens Closet Image! This graphic was used as an advertising sample for a Linens shop or service. Shown above is a neat and tidy Linen closet and a cute lady in a Maid’s uniform who is folding the linens! So cute!

This is a cute Vintage Apparel Sign! The graphic was used as an advertising sample for a Clothing shop showing a lovely lady and a gentleman, both dressed in their finest clothing.

This is a Cute Vintage Haberdashery Image! This graphic was used as an advertising sample for a Haberdashery shop, it shows a man trying on a tie. I think this would make a cute Father’s Day card!
