I have a number of very old Type Books in my collection, I usually offer you guys just the Images from those books, but there are some amazing Typography Bits in them as well. I’ve noticed while reading through them, that many of them are very Quirky and some are just plain Odd! However, I thought you might enjoy these and could perhaps use them as a basis for a Collage or maybe even as a writing prompt! The samples above are all from a Circa 1881 book. Included are the phrases “Ridiculous Airy Illusions”, “Elocutionary Babydom”, “Spade & Shovel Gymnastics, Excavating Curiosities” and lastly “Dressmakers to the Queen of Fashion”. So funny! Let me know if you can use these sorts of things and I will post more in the future!

They are the perfect titles for scrapbook pages….can’t you just see kids lined up at the beach (shovels, buckets of shells, etc.) with “Excavating curiosities” as the heading? How about transfers for t-shirts? Placemats…..pillows…
