Vintage Valentine Junk Journal
Hey guys – one of our fabulous Junk Journal Design Team Members, Sheena from Luna Rozu, has created an adorable junk journal for us this week. We are featuring one new Junk Journal each week created by our team of talented artisans. Our goal is that you be totally inspired by this series! Sheena created a wonderful Valentine Junk Journal. Please check out the video tour at the bottom of the page…you need to scroll all the way down the post to view it. Are you ready to be inspired?
And now I will let Sheena tell you about her junk journal in her own words…
Vintage Valentine Junk Journal
Happy Valentine’s everyone! This is Sheena once again from Luna Rozu and I’m back this week with an adorable little junk journal to celebrate the occasion. For this month’s design theme project, I decided to go with a children’s Valentines theme. You’ll find that this A6 sized journal is filled with adorable printed ephemera pictures, and of course, pretty florals. I call it my Vintage Valentine Junk Journal!
Patterned Paper Printables
The Graphics Fairy Premium Membership Website has tons of vintage images but I think sometimes the Paper Printables get overlooked. If you’re like me and don’t have a specific themed patterned paper in your stash, check out the corresponding themed sheets offered in the bundle sets. This saved me from having to go out to purchase an entire paper pad just for a particular theme. Here I’ve used papers from the Childhood Valentines and Autumn Hue Botanicals bundles. Don’t forget to coffee stain your pages for that vintage look!
Ephemera I Used
Most of the adorable vintage images and journaling cards used in this journal are from the Childhood Valentines, Valentine Kids, Vintage Valentines, Retro Valentines and Roses & Bees bundle sets. I have embellished a few of these with buttons and washi tape as well.
I’ve also included a printed poetry titled ‘Ode To Hope’ from the Script Ephemera bundle and a vintage photograph of a group of young ladies from the Antique Portraits bundle, which I thought went superbly well with the theme. Handwritten letters and photographs are always a great addition if you want your junk journals to have that ‘used’ look.
If you’re wanting to create a similar theme, I recommend checking out the following bundles (apart from the ones mentioned above): Romantic Roses, Valentine Love & Hearts, and Victorian Valentines.
