9 Wonderful Whale Images

Today we have an outstanding collection of Vintage Whale Images! These Images are beautiful drawings of several types of Whales. We have a delightful Killer Whale Image. I was surprised how large the dorsal fin is on this picture. Also included in this set is a gorgeous Natural History Sperm Whale illustration. The sepia tones and age on this one are just fantastic. We have a second Sperm Whale in color that is superb. I love how the head of a sperm whale is squared. Rounding out the collection is a drawing of a Gray Colored Whale. This one appears to be smiling. All of our amazing Whale Images are so nice for your Ocean themed or Nautical projects! They would all be fun for your Collage or Card Making projects as well!

Killer Whale Images

Antique Killer Whale Image

This is a wonderful Antique Killer Whale Image! The beautiful whale has black and cream coloring. He has a very large dorsal fin and half-moon shaped tail flukes. The fore flipper has a rounded shape that sort of looks like a tongue. Ha Ha.. His teeth seem pretty small compared to his size. This offering was scanned from a rare and early Circa 1790’s German Natural History Print in my collection! The print had several beautiful Illustrations of Whales and Dolphins. Make sure you enlarge this one so you can see all the beautiful details of the drawing.

Killer Whale Picture This one is a picture of another beautiful killer whale. He looks like he’s having fun, he is shown here in mid jump!

Sperm Whale Image

 

Here we have a gorgeous illustration of a Sperm Whale. This is a nice Natural History print, probably a lithograph. It looks very scientific. The sepia tone and ageing on this one is amazing. The words at the top of the image “das Luftloch” mean the air hole in German. So I assume it is a German print. There is more handwriting underneath the whale and by his flukes. He looks quite happy in this image. The square nose and beautiful eye are very appealing. I think he is just lovely!
Sperm WhaleHere is the latest addition to this collection. This is another Sperm Whale. What a sweet smile he has!

Isn’t he fabulous?! I love the little spout of water shooting out of the top of his head! The whale has some dark gray and green colorings with elongated spots on the under belly. His square nose is rounded and his mouth is slightly open, showing loads of small teeth. This is a marvelous Vintage Sperm Whale Image, scanned from a Circa 1860 French Zoology Print!

Above is a wonderful Vintage Whale Image! I am not sure what kind of whale this is. He is gray in coloring with darker areas on the back, belly, and tail areas. He has a tiny eye. This offering was scanned from another French Zoology Print! Isn’t he fabulous?! I similarly love the little spout of water shooting out of the top of his head and his big smile!

Vintage Narwhal Images

So apparently Narwhals are a type of Whale, which I hadn’t realized before. They are such curios looking creatures with that long horn coming of of their face! This one was scanned from a very old Natural History book in my collection.
Narwhal Image in SeaThis is the original image, that you saw above. Where you see him with his surroundings. I’m not sure if he is on the bottom of the sea, or next to the sea in this picture.
Narwhal Image in seaAnd here is one more Narwhal image. This one is definitely in the Ocean and the Sea looks quite rough!

    Thanks for ALL the great graphics you provide. This is perfect to go with the sperm whale from a few weeks ago. However, when I click to enlarge I get a black border line at the bottom, which I haven’t been able to figure out to remove. Can you offer some help, or is it part of the picture? Thanks again!
