I adore these old Butterfly Prints, or perhaps they are Moths?! These are so colorful it’s hard to tell! This Vintage Printable came in the mail straight from France! Included on the page are some lovely Winged Insects, colored in soft colors including Blue, Green, Periwinkle, Brown, and a Creamy one too! There is some wonderful typography on the page as well. This one dates to the mid 1800’s. I’ve included a High Resolution Printable, so that you can print this out and frame it up right away if you wish.
Featured above is a gorgeous Vintage Natural History Printable! Shown here is a Blue Butterfly Print! The print dates to 1847 and comes from France. I love the rich blue colors of this one!! The beautiful guy is resting on a flower sprig. Lovely!
Gorgeous Blue Butterfly Images
I love this lovely Vintage Aqua Blue Butterfly Image! It seems to be perfectly drawn to scale. This one comes from a Circa 1863 German Natural History Butterflies and Moths Book. I think it has a great Bohemian style look to it! I especially like the soft watery Blue Color of this beautiful Insect. Here is a Victorian Butterfly Scrap! I love the variations of colors in this one. It has lots of gold touches too, which I think would be fun to draw over with a gold metallic pen to bring out that bit of sparkle! There is bright red accents that are the perfect pop of color. Breathtaking!
Above is a splendid looking Butterfly from an antique Natural History print. It almost looks like a Halloween colored Butterfly to me with the orange accents.
Vintage Blue Moth Picture
This Moth Print comes from an 1840 Natural History Book. According to the book, this is a Death’s Head Hawkmoth. It has a creepy looking Skull like design on the back of its head! A bit scary looking. I really don’t want to encounter one of these!
