This weeks project is a super easy place mat project using an antique chandelier image . So fun to use for your New Years Eve table or for everyday!
This is the digital collage sheet that I created for this project. You can click here for the PDF .
I’ve included a supply list and instructions below:
Supply List:
1) Solid Color Fabric Place Mats – You can make your own of course, but I cheated and got mine at Ikea ( I think they were like $1.49 each!)
2)Iron On Transfer Paper – For Inkjet Printers
3)An Iron
Step 1: Print the PDF above, of the chandelier image, onto the Iron on Transfer paper (make sure you print on the correct side!)
Step 2: Use a hot iron and iron the paper face down onto your place mat (you could trim the excess paper from around the image first, and it would probably give you a cleaner looking edge). Follow the directions on the package to find out how long you should iron the image and for the cooling time. Different brands of papers may have different directions.
Step 3: Once the paper has cooled, slowly peel off of the backing and there you have it! You could also use this image on guest towels, pillow cases, tote bags, or whatever you like!!
I hope you enjoy this fast and easy project.

Good reason to head to IKEA, thanks for the heads up on the placemats. I have a couple of aprons in my craft room and I do believe I have the transfer paper too. Great graphic, I’ll give this a try tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration.

Karen, those are fantastic looking! I love image transfer paper. What type do you like best? I’ve experimented with several types, but haven’t found anything I’m in love with yet. I’d love to hear if there’s a product you’ve found great success with.

Karen~ ~Thank you so much this one is amazing and I will be using it this week. As soon as I get the placemats made. Do you have a suggestion for one of your clip arts for corridinating napkins. I dislike a matchy matchy look but of the same theme would be lovely.

thanks! Now, you should do one with the silverware pictured on the mat too…that would help me remember what goes where!
