Free Printable Journal Covers
These free Printable Journal covers are ones that I commissioned from Anja, who is one of our in house Printable designers for our Premium Membership site. I wanted something beautiful with a garden theme, that could be used as a Garden journal if desired. She did a gorgeous job and I think the covers are absolutely stunning! This post has been buried back in the archives for awhile, so I’m dusting it off and reposting it. You could really use these beautiful covers for any type of Junk Journal or Art Journal or planners even if you don’t have a garden.
Front of Printable Journal Cover
We’ve called this first one the front… and the one below the back. But really you could reverse them if you like or even use one or both as an interior page if you wanted to instead. The one above shows a lovely Spring scene.
We see a young woman with her little girl. They are standing next to a Cherry blossom tree that is just bursting with pink petals! The scene is framed up with a decorative frame that is embellished with more flowers, some leaves, a ribbon and 2 purple butterflies.
These is a lovely floral damask paper behind all of it. And in the very center we see another butterfly perched on top of a label where you can record your name. Just gorgeous!

And here is the second one. Also really beautiful!! These scene shows some lovely birds along with more flowers and leaves, another ribbon, a berry branch and a little marsh at the very bottom of the scene.
These were sized to fit a 9.75″ by 7.5″ composition book. You’ll just have to round the two corners on the right side of your notebook cover, with either a corner punch or a pair of scissors, so that it lines up properly and then adhere with glue. Or you can play with the sizing and use it however you like too, just use your creativity I’m sure you will come up with loads of ideas and inspiration! You could even create a little pocket on the inside of your handmade journal covers etc.
These resources are great for making your own Garden Journal, to keep track of your plantings, for field notes, or just fun to use in any Junk Journal or Art Journal.

Just wanted to share my experience…I had exactly the same notebook shown in the example but once I cut out the white borders, it was not fitting the front i.e. it was a leaving a gap on all sides. In any case, I painted a black border on the four sides of the front cover and then decoupaged the image. Thanks again for the gorgeous images.

These are great! Do you just mod podge them on the cover? Print them on paper? I think they are great! Please do more! Could I also put these on the smaller 5 X 7 journals you see at the dollor store?

Hi Taryn, Yes, just print them out and then apply with Mod Podge. If you’re using this type of notebook, you’ll need to round the corners, either with scissors or a rounded corner punch if you have one. You could also put them on a smaller journal, but you will need to adjust the size of the covers on your computer, using digital editing software first to do that. Or just get creative with your scissors and trim away parts of it to fit the smaller size. I hope that helps!
