How to Draw a Pig Step by Step
Kids or grown ups alike can follow these simple steps in this Cute Pig Drawing guide! I would recommend creating this with a pencil, as you will need to erase a couple of lines along the way. But you can always draw over him with an ink Pen when you are done, to define him some more. Have fun creating this popular animal.
Pig Drawing Step 1
Step 1: Let’s draw the Pig’s body. First draw a curved line to create half and oval, for the Pig’s belly, leading up around to his tail area. Then sketch a short curly que for his tail.
Step 2:
Step 2: Next draw another curvy link just after his curly tail and around to his face to form a little snout and complete the outline of his body.
Step 3
Step 3: Now add a curved line to define the Pig’s head from the Pig’s body. Then add 2 pointy ears. Draw a black dot for the Pig’s eye with a semi circle above and below.
Step 4:
Step 4: Draw his legs as shown above and few little lines behind his ear. Sketch in the Pig’s mouth. At this point you have a nice simple Cartoon Pig and you could stop there. This is a good place for kids to stop if they want to, or challenge yourself and continue on to the next step.
Step 5:
For those who want more of a challenge you can try your hand at adding all of the extra details below.
Step 5: Add his other 2 feet and some more detail as shown above, for the shading. Extra shading can be added to the back legs for a bit of shadow. Sketch some hooves on the pig’s legs and add a couple of nostrils on his nose. Such a cute Pig Drawing!
Step 6:
Step 6: The only thing left to do now is color your little Piggy in! Grab your markers, crayons, oil pastels or color pencils, or whatever you have on hand, and finish your artwork masterpiece! I colored this one in with light and dark pink tones, but you can let your creativity go wild and use whatever colors you like!

Hi Karen,
Will you be kind enough to allow me use one of your picture of pigs drawn here to submit a manuscript for publication in peer-reviewed journal. I am trying to draw the farrowing pen with piglets and adult pig in it.
Thank you.
