How to Draw Flying Birds
Bird Drawing Step 1
Step 1: Create a long curve with a spiral on the end of it. At the end of the spiral create a small dot for the Bird’s eye.
Step 2
Step 2: Create a line that crosses the end of the curved line and meets the top edge of the the spiral. This will give us the basis for his Tail.
Step 3
Step 3: Now create a curved line right below the head in order to start the Wings.
Step 4
Step 4: Connect the two lines on the left side of the drawing, with a line to create a triangle shape for his tail. You will also need to add a tiny triangle for the Bird’s beak.
Step 5
Step 5: Widen the base of the tail section by adding a line on either side of it. Enlarge the eye of a little bit. Add a v-shaped line at the base of his beak. And draw in more pronounced wings. At this point you have a simple cartoon bird drawing, you could stop here if you wanted to. Or continue on with the lesson below to add more detail.
Step 6
Step 6: Sketch in additional details as shown in the drawing above, to create the effect of feathers on your flying bird drawing.
The only thing left to do now is to color in your lovely Birds drawing! Go grab your markers, Crayola crayons, oil pastels or color pencils, or whatever you have on hand, and finish your artwork masterpiece! I colored this guy in with blue and a peachy tone as I thought he looked like a Bluebird to me. But you can let your creativity go wild and use whatever colors you like! You get to decide!
