Pearle Vision
Have you had your vision checked lately? I had a chance to check out the Pearle Vision Eye Care Center in Glen Burnie, Maryland, and I’m going to walk you guys through the whole fascinating process. My good friend Lisa was kind of enough to go with me {and drive too} to help me pick out some cute new eyeglasses! We hopped in her minivan and headed over to Pearle Vision! Here I am checking in with Jenny. Jenny also works in the frames department and was a huge help with selecting frames – more on that later.
History of Pearle Vision
I learned a bit of History about Pearle Vision while I was there. Did you know that the founder of Pearle Vision was Dr. Stanley Pearle? He founded the company in 1961, with the concept of a one-stop place for total eye care, so that you could get your eye exam and your glasses all in one place! Today there are nearly 600 Pearle Vision Eye Care Centers located all over the U.S. They focus on hiring experienced top quality doctors in order to deliver genuine eye care to their patients. The doctor who examined me was very knowledgeable and patient with me. She listened to my needs {that’s hugely important to me!} and answered all of my questions.
Eye Exam
The exam went smoothly and was painless!
Pearle Vision Frames
Next we headed out to the retail area to pick out some Pearle Vision frames! I tried on lots of glasses! {These are not the ones that I got, you’ll have to wait until later to see that!} Lisa tried on some glasses too! It was interesting to see how what worked for one of us, did not work for the other. Jenny had loads of tips for picking out the right color and shape of frame, depending on your face shape, coloring, etc. She really knew her stuff! It was great to have Lisa there too to weigh in with her opinion, and it made the day even more fun!
On Site Lab
Now, this was a huge surprise to me! Did you know that they have the lab right there on site?!! Here’s Jenny, back in the lab, checking to see if they had my prescription in stock, which they did. So Lisa and I went to lunch and when we came back, my glasses were ready for me to take home! Apparently, in most cases they can do that for you. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was!! Here we are back at my house. We filmed a video of our trip to Pearle Vision, and in this shot we are wrapping up what happened during the day. You’ll be able to see the video at the bottom of this post and then you’ll know why my eyes are popping! It may or may not have to do with a big sale that they had going on, that caused me to get 2 pairs of glasses instead of 1! I’ll reveal both the pairs of glasses that I got in the follow-up post! To wrap up for now though, here’s what I loved about my trip to Pearle Vision in a nutshell. I found it to be amazingly convenient, for these reasons:
- I was able to get an appointment right away
- They emailed me the paperwork in advance, so I could fill it out before I got there
- There was no wait when I got there; my exam started as soon as I entered the center
- The Doctor, and all of the staff, were experienced, knowledgeable and well trained
- I got expert advice on picking out frames
- They made my eyeglasses right there, in about an hour!
All and all it was a great experience. I love my new glasses, and we’ll be using Pearle Vision for all of our family’s eye care needs from now on. Also, Lisa was impressed and will be making an appointment too!
New Glasses Reveal
Back at my house Lisa and I filmed a video discussing the Pearle experience.
I received an eye exam from a top notch doctor, using all the latest equipment. My doctor had quite a few years of experience, she was very patient and explained everything that she was doing as we progressed through the exam. She was also a great listener and answered all my questions! I felt like I was in really good hands! I got to choose from a large selection of frames in the retail section of the EyeCare Center. They had so many pretty frames to choose from! For those of you that are into top designer brands, you will love all the great names like, Tiffany & Co, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Coach, etc. I was shocked {and thrilled!} to find out that they had a lab right there and could make my glasses on the spot, while Lisa and I were at lunch! Here I am wearing them already during the check-out process. Such a huge time saver!
Pearle Vision Glasses
Here I am back at home with my new eyeglasses! I can finally see to read again, and to look at my computer. They are very comfortable too. You may remember that I told you, that I would explain in a future post, why my eyes were popping in this photo! Did you guess from the photo above?! It’s because they were running a buy one get one free special! Woohoo!! I was able to get a pair of prescription sunglasses as well. Now I can read on the beach, at the pool, on my patio or wherever! Yay! Lisa and I also made a video about our day, so that you can get the inside scoop on the Pearl Vision experience! You can watch it below… and then afterwards you can call your local Pearle Vision and schedule an appointment!
What is Pearle Vision Glasses Return Policy
They have a no-questions asked return policy on eyewear purchased at their stores for 30 days from purchase date. If you’re not satisfied with your glasses/eyeglasses, just bring them back in their original condition and they’ll make things right. They will adjust them, fix them, exchange them or replace them for you. Easy peasy!

When did you last get your eyes checked? Have you visited Pearle Vision?

I wear glasses. I love to buy designer glasses online because they are less expensive. I have about 8 pairs so I can accessorize my look. I have dry eyes so I used moisturized eye drops and eye gel before bed.

I have had two pairs of glasses and have never been able to get used to wearing them. The last pair was a very expensive pair of invisible bi’s and they looked great but I still couldn’t get used to them. Well, ten years later and I have a pair of non-prescription glasses in every single room in my home and can’t read anything without them… and am ready to up them, again. I think it is time to get a new pair of glasses and now that I am wearing the non-prescrips so much during the day I think I will be able to get used to them and see things much more clearly all the time.

I go to Pearle Vision:) My husband and I love them – for the quick turnaround and, more importantly to us, the customer service! I had a pair of glasses from them that were never quite right. I got a headache every time I wore them, so I didn’t wear them often. I put off going in to get them fixed and before I knew it – it was a year later. I walked in to get my new glasses, and I brought those glasses in with me to donate. They asked about the “new” glasses I was donating and I told them the story. They did not charge me for my new lenses. Seriously. I got an entire new pair of glasses for the cost of the beautiful frames I chose. I will never go anywhere else! Pearle Vision ROCKS!

I am glad that your visit when well. And I really like that “The Doctor is in.” sign. It could apply for so many types of doctors ( furniture, booboo, animal, etc.) I wear glasses and could use some with a built in fan this time of year.
Thank you
JJ

I wear glasses and have since I was in 2nd grade. (I’m 58 now, so it’s probably been 50 years! Ouch!) I hate trying on glasses. It is always trial and error…no one to help, as far as what complements my face and coloring, etc.. My wife and I consult on what looks good, which is about the 50th pair! We don’t care for the place where we have gone in the past, but right now, I think I’m stuck. My frames are still good, and they might just be able to order the lenses based on last time’s visit. We’ll see. My wife has already opted out. I hate trying to compare apples to oranges when looking at glasses at different places. Everything has different names…different frames, different atmosphere, etc., and by the time I get all of the NECESSARY bells and whistles, I spend about $300 on one pair of glasses. This is about the only thing I don’t comparison shop for, and I hate it!!! (I understand that one company in Italy makes about 90% of the frames in the world, both designer ($$$) and the cheapie ones ($), so that isn’t fair either!) Glasses are a big rip-off, but I will continue to wear them. With contacts, I can’t stand to have the air on my eyeballs! I have put off purchasing my glasses this year, because it is more important for my wife to have hers. Soon, I will have to get mine, though, and I am dreading it! It’s anxiety provoking. Whew!

My “Affordable Care Act” insurance only covers certain discontinued frames that have been relegated to a box of frames that are free for Medicaid patients. I had no luck finding frames in that box that looked good on me and that were durable. I wear my glasses 24/7 and they need to be durable, light in color, and without those nosepad thingies that drive me crazy, and the few plastic frames that are available seem to be metal or mixed material frames with nosepads or plastic frames that are kitchy or dark. I don’t want to wear glasses that look like they are wearing ME! I’ve resorted to buying my glasses online, and have managed ok. I like the selection of frames, and it is FAR less expensive, HOWEVER, you don’t have the important service of someone to make sure the frames are adjusted. One must have an updated prescription, PLUS the correct pupillary distance for the prescription, or the glasses won’t be right. I like my own opthalmologist, but it may pay to save up to afford frames from Pearle Vision. You really do benefit when your script is right and you can have the frames properly adjusted for your face.

I have a pair of glasses with a very mild prescription to wear to drive for distance vision. I care for my eyes by resting them when they get fatigued from looking at screens too long.

My husband and daughter wear glasses, but I currently do not. I have recently noticed a change in my vision though and probably do need to start wearing them. I did pick up some magnifying readers for painting my nails 🙂

I wear glasses because, without them, I can’t see a thing! I have my eyes checked yearly and also see my ophthalmologist several times a year because I have some ongoing eye problems. Everyday I wash my eyelids and apply warm compresses to them and also apply Lumigan, Restasis and Refresh Liquigel eye drops. I do spend a lot of time on my eyes! 😉

Very important to take care of our eyes. Thanks for the reminder and motivation!

I need both near and far and cannot adjust to bifocals so I have 2 sets of glasses. I am overdue for an exam so this would be great. I have not been to Pearle Vision but will check them out. I am on Medicare so am limited as to where I can go. The only time I do not wear my glasses is when I sleep or showering. I am constantly switching my glasses i.e. when I drive vs when I am in the store and need to see things closer. I need stronger glasses as I get older, right now I am at 3.5 so I am wondering how strong the next step will be. Thanks for sharing your visit to Pearle Vision.

I only wear readers right now, but they are getting progressively stronger! I see the optometrist regularly, because preventative maintenance is important. I also make sure to wear sunglasses when I go out to prevent UV damage.

#PearleVision #ad #SK I can see pretty well, but could not read a word without my glasses.
