People by the Sea Color Images
This is a fun Fishermen to the Rescue Image! Featured above is a Whimsical scene of two Fishermen, carrying a Man and a Woman onto Shore. The man in the white suit is wearing a Monocle. Such a curiously funny scene!
Pictured above is a wonderfully charming vintage postcard! This card shows Lady Hope holding a large anchor and a star. She appears to be lighting the way for ships lost at sea to bring them home safely and anchor them ashore! I suppose that the message indicates that hope can triumph over danger and fear, or something similar.
This is a rather striking looking antique Postcard! The card shows a Man and a Woman holding hands across the Ocean! The card was originally mailed from New Jersey to Cornwall England in 1908. The shamrock must indicate that the man is Irish. “Hands Across the Sea” written on the card must refer to the connection they have through mail service. So fun and colorful!
This is a lovely Victorian Lady graphic! She is quite fashionably dressed with her big Lace Collar, Rose Hat, and Gold bracelet! Perhaps a bit overdressed for the Beach! She must have been an Aristocrat or other sort of high society person I would guess! I just love the delicious looking colors in this one.
Antique Sheet Music Sea Ephemera
Swoon!!! I’m over the moon for this one! This one is a favorite of some fabulous antique sheet music ephemera pieces in my collection! The title of it is “Birdie Darling,” and it features a beautiful woman releasing a bird from its cage out to the Sea. What a romantic image! I adore the original version with torn edges and stains, but created a second version all cleaned up for those of you who prefer it that way. These files are quite large, so you may need to click multiple times to get the full size.
Vintage People by the Sea Black and White Images
I really love the autumn tones in this old Eastern European postcard! This postcard features a beautiful young woman harvesting shellfish along the sea.
This pretty image is from an early 1850’s book. Here we see a lovely Lady on a Balcony, overlooking the Sea. She has a wreath of Flowers in her hair and a Parrot for a companion. She appears to be watching the boats below, perhaps waiting for a loved one to return home. According to the caption her name is Marian. So nice!
I hope you enjoyed this fun curated collection of People by the Sea Images!! You might also like Best Ocean Images HERE or our Ocean Coloring Pages HERE.

Hi Karen,
I love this Victorian Lady in blue. I agree she must have been an Aristocrat in high society to wear what she was wearing – maybe she was on a boat the size of the Titanic? Lol! Very pretty image!
I also love both versions of the Birdie Darling! The area she is releasing the bird looks HUGE!! Maybe this was set at some Musical Hall where she performed? Can you just imagine a place like this overlooking the sea? Heavenly!
With the Eastern European Postcard – I love the tones. The lady sure looks like she is concentrating on something she sees that just might be a bit hungry.
She’s kind of got that look on her face that says: “Hey, Don’t you be coming near me.” Lol! She seems to be prepared for warmth while out by the water, wearing long sleeves. She may not be in a bathing suit, but she still looks great!
Lastly, we have a beautiful Marian. I was wondering who she was daydreaming or longing for with that dreamy look on her face. And there he is, on the boat, gazing up to her!!
Thanks so much for sharing these wonderful images with us!! Have a wonderful weekend!
