2 Vintage Crocodile Images
This is an interesting collection of Vintage Crocodile Images. Some of these may, or may not, be Alligators. Apparently the difference between Alligators and Crocodiles is that Crocks have a V shaped snout and Alligators have a U shaped snout. Which is all very well and good if you saw a photo of the 2 species together, you could probably easily tell which was which, but these are very old illustrations and it’s very difficult for me to tell. And when the books, where these guys came from, are in a different language than the one I speak, it makes it even more difficult! My understanding though is that both belong to the Crocodilian species.
This is a Free Vintage Alligator Image! Or maybe he’s a Crocodile? This one was scanned from a recent addition to my collection, it’s from a Circa 1879 German Natural History Book about Animals. Shown above is a large Green scaly Alligator, he looks like he’s ready to take a big bite out of something!
