6 Vintage Dancing Images
It’s always a thrill to find vintage illustrations that feature dancing. These images are from a variety of different types of ephemera like Postcards, Prints and advertising cards… and they’re so charming! In this blog post, we’ll take a look at some of our favorite dance graphics ranging from the 1920s back to the mid 1800’s. Hopefully you will find something here that brings a smile to your face. Perhaps you could use these to make a lovely Handmade card for a friend, or family member, that is a dancer.
Vintage Dancing Woman Photograph
Pictured above is a fun Old Photo of a Dancer in a Costume. It appears to be some type of Fiesta costume, perhaps from Mexico or the Southwest. I love the bright colors and the various appealing patterns on her dress. She’s quite daring to show her ankles and calves!!
Old Time Dancing Costumes
Here we have a fabulous Harlequin Lady Dancer Image! This is a fun old Advertising card! The card shows a woman dressed in a Harlequin costume. Could she perhaps be Columbine? She’s wearing pretty ballet shoes and a tri- corner hat with tassels. She appears to be dancing on the Moon! I love the colors on this one with teals, yellows, and oranges! There is a small blank portion near the bottom of the card that’s the perfect spot to add a bit of text. This would also make a cute Gift Tag or Journaling card! Fun for Mardi Gras projects too!
How cute is this?!! I’ve had this one displayed in my office for some time. The full bodied woman is a sassy, saucy looking Victorian Showgirl or Burlesque Dancer!! She is wearing a very skimpy red and blue outfit or costume. The top is low cut displaying her ample bosom. Her legs are totally uncovered by the short skirt or shorts. WOW!

I’m ridiculously excited about this one!!! This is an old Sheet Music Cover, circa 1907, that shows a remarkable colorful Masquerade Ball!! There is just so much fabulosity going on here, from the young couple wearing their masks and costumes, to the pink and blue clown, the Theater masks, the Peacock feathers, Musical instruments, etc., … amazing!! Great for Mardi Gras! I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with for this one!!
Vintage Dancing Images
Isn’t this fun?!! I found this one in an Antique Mall in Pennsylvania. It is an old Victorian era Advertising card for Pillsbury! The card shows three Dancing ladies with colorful ruffled dresses who are dancing on top of a toy top!! The bright colors are just spectacular on this one!
