6 Wishbone Images
Today we have a fun collection of Wishbone Images! It’s long been a tradition, on Thanksgiving, to let 2 people break the Wishbone and make a wish. The person with the longer piece is said to be the one that will get their wish granted. My sister and I always looked forward to this each Thanksgiving, and since there were no other kids in our family, we were always allowed to be the wishers! I really don’t remember what we wished for, or if those wishes came true, but it was fun anyway. Is this tradition a part of your Family’s Thanksgiving? If so, you might enjoy the nostalgic vintage images below. These Wishbones illustrations would be great to use in your Junk Journaling or Scrapbook Projects! We hope you enjoy this mix of Thanksgiving Turkey Wishbone Images!
Wishbone Images
Here is the latest image in this collection. Featured above is a Giant Turkey, with a huge Wishbone in his beak! He seems to be beckoning to the little girl to pull the other side of it. So whimsical!
This is a cute old Thanksgiving postcard showing a Winter Landscape with a large Turkey! The scene is framed up with a giant gold Wishbone, that is decorated with red satin ribbon.
Pictured above is a cute postcard featuring Thanksgiving Kids with a Turkey and Wishbone Image! The two darling children, a boy and a girl, are Dressed in Pilgrim costumes. I just love the little boy’s gray hat, and the girl’s warm cap and scarf seem to be perfect attire for the season. Each child is holding a side of a giant Wishbone. It is being used as an archway for a big and beautiful colorful Turkey as he struts through it. I wonder if they plan on pulling the wishbone apart after the turkey walks under it to see who gets the longest piece for making a lucky wish! The greeting on the postcard reads “Appoint a Meeting with this old Fat Fellow.” There is a nice golden frame behind the scene. How charming is this card?
This is a lovely Vintage Cordial Thanksgiving Greeting Card! Featured above is an interesting image of a wishbone adorned with a pretty red ribbon bow tied around it. There is a lovely landscape scene of a pond or stream with calm, serene waters. The sun is glowing on the water. A beautiful tree branch that has color of the Fall season with its orange leaves, peeks from a diagonal frame in the middle of the card. The card reads, “For love present, ills past, and good to come, may our hearts rejoice this Thanksgiving Day.” These are such nice and meaningful words I think!
Black & White Wishbone Clipart
Lastly we have a sweet Thanksgiving Turkey Wishbone Graphic! This is a black and white detailed illustration of a Beautiful Turkey walking or posing under a giant Wishbone! This one was scanned from a Circa 1920’s Vintage Booklet.
I hope you enjoyed this fun curated collection of Vintage Images!! You might also like the Over 90 Images our Thanksgiving Archives HERE!
