8 Christmas Drawing Ideas
If you read this blog regularly you may have noticed that we have been posting some Christmas Drawing Ideas over the last several weeks. I thought it would make sense to pull them together into a collection in this blog post, to make it easier to find them. I will continue to update this post over the years as we add more Holiday Drawing lessons to the site. Most of these were scanned from Vintage Children’s books. They are sweet simple sketches that are great for kids, or for anyone at any age, that is just beginning to learn how to draw. I hope you enjoy this collection of simple holiday sketches. All of these tutorials come with free Printables Practice Sheet that you can print out to practice on. Have fun creating these nostalgic illustrations!

This super cute Santa is so fun and easy to draw! He can be drawn in 6 steps, which is the most amount of steps for all of the drawings on this page, but still quite simple to sketch. I’m showing all of the fully colored versions of each drawing lesson on this page, but all of these Santa Claus drawings are in black and white and you can just use your pencil if you want and stop there, if you don’t want to color them in. Or you can go the next step and color in with your markers, crayons etc. I love how stout and quirky this Santa is and his little “O” shaped mouth that makes him look so jolly! The red gloves, or actually mittens, I guess make it easier to draw his hands too.

Next we have a beautiful praying Angel. She has wonderful huge wings and long hair, as well as a long gown with wide sleeves. She only takes 5 steps to complete. Wouldn’t she be lovely drawn onto a handmade Christmas card?! What a wonderful way to add your own personal touch to card for a friend or family member.

Animals to Draw

Maybe not Christmas per say, but this Penguin is a super cute Winter animal that can go nicely with other holiday or Winter drawings. This one is another 5 step lesson.

And then we have a cute little Mouse with whiskers and all! This may seem an odd choice to some for a Christmas collection, but in our house we always had a mouse ornament on the tree to represent the “Twas the Night before Christmas” poem. As in … “not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse”! He was part of our Christmas Eve tradition. You can create this guy in 4 simple steps.
I hope you enjoyed this collection of Easy Christmas Drawing Ideas … and I hope you have a great Christmas! Creating your own handmade art projects can make for some very special gifts for under the Christmas Tree … or decorations for the Christmas season.
