Vintage Family Photographs

Featured above is a nice Antique photo of a young Victorian family. They are all dressed in their ‘Sunday Best’ I would think. I’m not sure if the gentleman in the center is the Father or one of the Children because he appears so young to me, but they all certainly look quite stately!

Here we have a rare Antique photo of a family seated in the grass. They are dressed for the occasion! It appears to be a mother, father, 2 children and a Grandmother. Perhaps the Grandmother is the man’s mother, as she is seated next to him. A beautiful American family!

Here we have a Victorian Elegant Family Portrait Overlooking the Sea Image! This stunningly beautiful painting of an elegant Victorian couple with a little girl and dog is set on a balcony overlooking the ocean. The colors a bright and clear. A little blond girl stands on her seated father’s knee dressed in a white dress with lace and red trim. Her father, with a handlebar mustache, wears a gray/green suit, cream vest, and red tie. His patent leather shoes have a bow and his straw hat sits on the floor by a child’s pull toy. The mother stands behind the wicker chair wearing a beautiful yellow dress with gray/green trim. She holds a red parasol. You can see a ship on the sea in the background. So nice!

The images pictured above come a fabulous 1880’s Poetry Book. The book has a number of charming Title pages that are all done in Silhouettes, like the one you see above. This one shows a beautiful Family and is titled “Poems of Home.“ Check out the amazing Typography on this one too!!! I’ve included an Instant Art Printable of the Ephemera Silhouette so that you can print up the whole thing, along with a black and white version of just the Silhouette.

Retro Family Images

This is such a fun Retro Fifties Image showing a Family, including the Cat! They are all dreaming about things that they would like to buy. I think it’s funny because aren’t the items exactly what you would expect that each would want? I think that they are matched up perfectly. Dad of course wants the sports car! Ha! This one actually came from a U.S. Government Pamphlet on Household Budgets. So Cute!

Hi Karen,

I love the top two photos. The Victorian family – all of their lips have that same kind of a photo ‘pout’ that I find very interesting. I love their clothes! The gorgeous children’s dresses are so dainty, all layered in lace.
What a beautiful family portrait! Yes, the man behind the Mother is questionable – he may be her son or he could be her husband. But he does look very young.

In the photo below, I find it interesting that each one of them is focused on something different except for the Grandmother. LOL! They take photo sessions so seriously!! But they are dressed so beautifully for another lovely photoshoot!
