Chalkboard Style Printable Labels
Chalkboard art is so much fun, and these old apothecary images have been re-imagined as chalkboard style art. I modified the old labels and layered them on top of a chalkboard texture I created. I love the contrast of the white graphic on the dark grey background, and the imperfect lines and edges in the designs have a neat look and seem to work together!
You can use this printable in so many ways – print it on card stock and make some gift tags, print it on a full size label to make sticker labels for gifts, or use these images for cards and craft projects. Great for the Holidays or for getting things Organized after the Holidays too! I am offering two versions, a standard blank printable and an exciting new editable format as well!

In addition to the regular Printable we are trying something new and exciting today! Woohoo! We are offering a second version of these labels in an Editable Format! What that means is that on this second version, there will be some sample text filled in and you will be able to change it! In order to do this though, you must be viewing it in a reader like Adobe Reader, then you can customize it and change the text to say whatever you like! How cool is that?!
You most likely will only be able to use these if you use Explorer or Firefox as your browser, as it’s not compatible in Chrome and I don’t think it works in Safari either. Also, these won’t work if you save them to your computer, you must alter the text directly in the reader and then print from there.
If you would like to see the original labels I worked from, you can find them here: left column (1, 2, 3) and right column (1a and 1b, 2, 3).

I’m really excited to find these wonderful labels. I was initialing looking at using chalk paint labels for my canisters & pantry storage but love the labels you provide here. Do you have a recommendation for the best clear label paper to purchase? I’m looking on Amazon & see several brands. Reading the reviews I’m not seeing any clear winner. Which clear labels do you use? Thanks!

Thanks so much Kathy, I am so glad you like them! There are so many great brands, Avery is very popular but they are all very similar so you should be fine with whatever you decide. Good luck!

Hi,
These are great and thanks so much for sharing.
I do have a question, though. I’m fairly new to Adobe and was wondering if an entire sheet of one style label can be created? For example, I would really like to use the last label style on all my canisters. How do I separate the last one from the rest and create several of that style on a single page? Am I making any sense? I’ve tried drag-and-drop and copy-and-paste and nothing. Please help.
All the best for this season and for the upcoming new year,
Cathy

Hi Cathy,
No, I’m afraid you can’t really change them up like that. Sorry! Maybe in the future Adobe will invent some way to get the reader to work that way. I wish I had better news for you!
