I adore the Four Vintage Wire Hoop Cage Skirt Diagram Graphic that might be useful in your Halloween Decor. All are great to use in your Steampunk, Junk Journal projects!
Vintage Poison Labels
I thought this Vintage Poison label was especially spooky! It is an old ad for some type of medicine. The ad is black and orange, and shows a creepy looking skull. We also have a black and white version below it. This one is for Arsenic. The traditional Skull and Cross Bones is on the label, and there is even an antidote!
Here we have a Poison label from Mead Brothers Druggists of Gouverneur, New York. POISON is printed in white letters on a bright red background with a Skull and Crossbones on each side. You certainly would see it I think!
This old Poison label is for Arsenic from Smith Pharmacy of York, Pa. It has a unusual looking Skull and Cross Bones image. There is an antidote that sounds pretty awful to me!
Featured above is a Vintage Poison label for Quicksilver from Central Drug Store of Mt. Jewett, Pa. The traditional Skull and Cross Bones is displayed on the label. The antidote seems quite unusual and sounds somewhat like a witches brew!
Spooky Ephemera Images
Above is a wonderful early ephemera piece from the “Lady’s Tablet of Friendship,“ which is a pre-civil war autograph book. This page is a delightful poem entitled “Night” that is done in the loveliest penmanship handwriting. I wish I could write like this!! The poem is great fun to read, and there is even a bit about Fairies in it! Make sure you click on the image to bring up the largest size.
This is a cute little vintage Halloween card or party invitation! It has three silhouettes, a Bat, a Cat, and a Pumpkin, as well as a fun rhyme! It reads, “Won’t you come over on Halloween and quake & tremble at strange sights seen.” Love those classic orange and black Halloween colors!
Above are four Vintage Wire Hoop Cage Skirts Diagram Graphic! This is a really interesting graphic of four different wire hoop skirts from an old Advertisement. It shows the details of how each is constructed in patterns. They look almost ghostly to me!

Hi Karen,
I agree with the penmanship in regards to the “Lady’s Tablet of Friendship,“ This truly shows those years of classic everything. The time taken to write this, I couldn’t even imagine. But this is beautiful and very unique to see something so different.
I also admire Amy’s “Save the Date,” invitation – which is very creative and so spooky at the same time. I love both versions – and it kind of keeps your mind going with the mystery that is about to come on Halloween. These are fantastic! I love them!
Thanks so much for sharing these with us!!
Have a wonderful evening and keep safe!
