Today’s reader tutorial is from Marsha Lamberth, who is sharing her beautiful DIY French Accent Table. Lets see how she did it!
What you’ll need:
homemade paint concoction (see recipe below)
french graphic
artist transfer paper
craft paint
dark wax
soft rag for buffing
What to do:
1. I started with this old table that had belonged to my Mother. It had seen better days, but I thought it would be the perfect canvas to showcase a french graphic. I gave the table 2 coats of homemade chalk paint. I make this with 1 cup of latex paint (Valspar paint in the color Wicker), 1/3 cup cold water, and 2 Tablespoons of Plaster Of Paris.
2. I enlarged the graphic, transferred it with artist transfer paper, and then hand painted it onto the table with craft paint.
3. Next, I sealed the table with 3 coats of homemade dark wax – mix Johnson’s Paste Wax with a small amount of artist oil paint in Burnt Umber – Apply the wax and buff off after each coat with a soft rag.
This table came out fabulous! Thank you so much, Marsha, for sharing your gorgeous project with us!

What a great project. Love the table design, the graphics and the color choices. I’m sure her Mother would be proud of the finished project.

Hi, I was wondering if you could walk me through making the image larger, I’ve seen it mentioned a whole lot on here, but can’t seem to find how to actually do it. Thanks millions
